Hi, my name is Yusra Subhani. I am 20 years old, and I’m a liberal arts major in my fourth semester of Bergen Community College. Outside of school, I recently ran for the Board of Education of Teaneck, in a bid to bring a voice to the students of my hometown. I’m very passionate about giving a voice to the voiceless, and because of this I happily work in the Violence Intervention and Prevention Center at BCC as a peer advisor. I am also part of different organizations all dedicated to bettering our society. I am a member of the Beyond Diversity Committee. It is an inter generational committee dedicated to examining the equity in our public schools. I have participated in town hall meetings on a variety of topics from Racism and Law Enforcement to Education and Equality. I take these experiences and carry them with me in hopes to create a better world for everyone.
I am a student volunteer and youth Representative of Brilliance Foundation, looking forward to work with the foundation for a better future of women & youth.
